The God Who Restores
“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…”
– Joel 2:25a ESV
Locusts can have a devastating effect on crops in certain situations. They can plague vegetations and completely destroy them.
Covid-19 feels like it’s a worldwide plague. It is our locust and it has eaten and destroyed various times and events for us. For some of us, it stripped us of celebrating our own weddings or senior high graduation. For others of us, it has destroyed our health or a family member’s health by infecting people with the virus. It also has affected our work situation, our vacations, and our recreation. It has hindered us from attending funerals or even visiting our elderly family members. It is an ugly virus and it has eaten something important and special in our lives.
But in the midst of this loss, I’m encouraged by my God who restores. God is in the business of restoring our health, restoring our job situation, and restoring important events in our lives. God can take this loss in our lives and we can trust Him to make something beautiful! He’s the God who restores. Trust Him, seek Him and wait on Him. Then watch what He does with your situation!
Pray: Lord, You are the God who restores and rebuilds. Help my heart to trust You during this time and help me to see how You will restore my situation and this season of my life!
