ITINERARY
JUNE 5: NEW YORK/TEL-AVIV
We depart late in the afternoon on EL AL’s non-stop flight to Tel Aviv. Full service on board.
JUNE 6: CAESAREA/SEA OF GALILEE
Upon arrival in Israel, we’ll be met by our bus, guide, and tour representative. We’ll drive up the Mediterranean coast to the fabulous aqueduct & seaport ruins of Caesarea by the Sea, home of Pontius Pilate, Philip, Cornelius, and Paul during his imprisonment in Acts 23-26 If time permits, we’ll visit Mount Carmel, then we’ll travel over the hills into Galilee for supper and overnight in our hotel on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
JUNE 7 NORTHERN ISRAEL
Today we’ll tour sites in Northern Israel including Tel Dan, Caesarea Philippi (Banias) at the headwaters of the Jordan River, the Mount of Beatitudes commemorating where Jesus gave His Sermon on the Mount, Capernaum & Magdala. We’ll also have a night-time service onboard a boat on the Sea of Galilee.
JUNE 8: GALILEE
After breakfast, we’ll take a non-strenuous climb to the summit of Mount Arbel, visit Nazareth & Mt. Precipice and an old synagogue, Megiddo, then move on to the Jordan River for baptisms at Yardenit. Back to the hotel for our last night in Tiberias.
JUNE 9: JORDAN VALLEY
We’ll depart after breakfast for Beit She’an & Gan HaShlosha for a refreshing swim. Afterward, we’ll travel through the Jordan Valley to Jericho. Then we’ll travel toward Jerusalem, stopping briefly at the Wadi Kelt to the overlook of St. George. Overnight in Jerusalem.
JUNE 10: JERUSALEM & BETHLEHEM
After breakfast, we’ll worship together on the Mount of Olives, walk down the Palm Sunday road and visit the traditional Garden of Gethsemane, drive to Bethlehem & visit Shepherd’s Field, then travel to the Valley of Elah where David & Goliath met. Overnight in Jerusalem.
JUNE 11: JERUSALEM
We’ll start our day on Temple Mount, then visit the Western Wall, the Southern Steps of the Temple & Davidson Archeological Park. Then we’ll travel to the Israeli Museum with it’s fabulous model of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea Scrolls & other archaeological artifacts.
JUNE 12: SAMARIA
This morning we’ll be making a special trip to Samaria, traveling to Shiloh & Mt. Gerizim (the home of Samuel, Eli, & the Tabernacle) & to a Samaritan village where sacrifices are still made to this day. Overnight in Jerusalem.
JUNE 13: JERUSALEM & MASADA
We’ll start the day with a moving visit to the Garden Tomb. Then we’ll board the bus & head down to Masada, another of Herod’s palaces & the location of a Roman siege that tragically ended in a mass suicide of the Jewish occupiers. Afterward, we’ll visit Qumran & stop at the Dead Sea for a float in its’ buoyant waters.
JUNE 14: JERUSALEM AT YOUR LEISURE
You’ll have all day on your own. If you haven’t visited the American Colony (founded by Horatio Spafford – “It is Well With My Soul”) you might want to consider it. A group usually visits Hezekiah’s Tunnel, & there will be plenty of time to shop in the Old City. After dinner, we’ll board a bus back to Tel Aviv.
JUNE 15: TEL-AVIV/JFK
We’ll say goodbye to Israel and catch an after-midnight flight back to JFK, full of memories, increased knowledge of the Bible, and beautiful pictures to share with family and friends!
PLEASE NOTE:
- Sometimes while on the tour we have to tweak the itinerary slightly depending on conditions on the ground such as crowds, traffic or unexpected interruptions.
- Pastor Morgan and Pastor Matt will provide short Bible teaching segments at the major sites as well as commentary on the bus to make the trip biblically informative and inspirational. Our Jewish guide will provide background information and freely answer questions.
