Senior Adults

First Baptist Church Broken Arrow is blessed with a wealth of resources through a strong membership of senior adults, ages 55 and over, who recognize that God calls servants from all walks and stages of life. By design, God has purposed that older Christians should counsel and train younger generations, drawing on a lifetime of resources in wisdom, experience, capability, dedication and commitment.

In addition, within the Senior Adult Ministry lies the opportunity for younger seniors to minister to older members, especially those with physical or health limitations that make is difficult for them to participate in activities. Whether making a visit, reaching out a hand, or lending an ear, our members find countless ways to share the love of Christ with others.

Sunday School

Sunday School classes are the most important place for persons to become involved at FBCBA. This setting offers opportunity for small groups study, fellowship and ministry. Senior adults may choose a class beginning and 9:15 and 10:45 am.

Worship Services

Worship Services are conducted on Sundays at 8:00, 9:15 and 10:45 am, and 6:30 pm.

Wednesday Bible Study/Fellowship Meal

“Living Longer and Loving it” (LLL) Luncheons

“Living Longer and Loving It” provides monthly fellowship luncheons and programs. All senior adults are invited to meet at 11:30 on the third Thursday of each month to enjoy a meal, social time and uplifting program featuring guest speakers, musical entertainment, or performances by local school children. Lunch is served in the ARC for a small cost.

Music Ministry

The Music ministry considers seniors as “Just Older Youth” (JOY) and provides many opportunities for members to worship God and service the community through singing. The JOYSingers, a senior adult choir, rehearse weekly on Thursdays from 10-11 am in the Worship Center choir room. JOYSinger’s have  been known to perform in senior adult living centers, prisons, and other churches or anywhere people need to hear about the love of Christ!

Outreach Ministry

Seniors may reach out to others by supporting many outreach ministries, visiting shut-ins, nursing home residents, and hospital patients. A home-bound ministry provides weekly delivery of worship service and sermon audiotapes, the latest church news and prayer support.

Prayer Ministry

FBCBA is a church committed to prayer and, through its organized prayer ministry, offers senior the opportunity to support the work of the church through dedicated prayer effort.

Volunteer Ministry

Senior adults are some of our most active and dedicated volunteers serving the church! No matter what your talents or interests, there is a place to serve, whether as clerical support, artists and craftsman, traffic directors, maintenance helpers, childcare workers, cooks, ushers, greeters, etc.

FBCBA is a warm and loving church that enjoys opening its doors and caring for the physical needs of its members, guests and visitors – your hospitality can share the love of Christ in a very significant way!

Women’s Ministry

The women’s Ministry welcomes women all ages to participate in weekly Bible studies, a women’s mission group and many special events and conferences. Senior adult women play an active role in supporting and encouraging the younger women of the church.

Travel
